I agree with anyone who views life as an artwork in progress, or a masterpiece, if you will. Each event significant, like a colourful brush-stroke on the canvas of life. I don't claim to have everything sorted out in a neat little folder, but I believe that the disorderliness of events in our everyday is sometimes the very thing we need to nudge us to the next plain. Apart from blabbering on about my kids; I will use this blog to also write about simple stuff I find interesting, like a new movie I have watched; a book I have read or listened to; a tutorial or presentation I have watched; a course I have done; something I have seen on the news; a place I have visited or simply a thought that has crossed my mind. All these are, to me, the various elements that work together in shaping and driving the being that is me. I have decided to blog about these things here, as kind of a way for me to document them, try to make sense of them, share and hear what other adults have to say about them. I have started this blog at a time in my life when I have just completed a long chain of studies and am now, for the first time in the last 17 years (with at the most a couple of months between them). To write about something different from assignments is something I have longed for a long time. Since I can't commit myself to writing a book, a blog feels like a comfortable option where I can switch between topics and still have the freedom to follow my own pace and actually finish writing something with no pressure. Since four weeks ago I officially began my swedish parential´leave and am mostly at home with all or one or two of my three kids. For those of you who are not familiar with the Swedish system, I will write about this in my next blog. Anyway, this break from work has awaken in me that longing to follow little passions I have not been able to fully explore due to study or work commitments. The first weeks of my leave have shown me how naive and ambitious I have been, my kids take up all the day and evening time, I can only write on this blog in the night when they are asleep, I always wanted to be a ghost writer :-). Anything else I might hope to do during the day, I have to count my little gang in. As a result I have shifted from reading books more towards audio books that I can listen to on my little portable speaker that follows me to any part of the house. To feed my passion for photography and film making, my kids have become my supermodels and subjects. I think it´s awesome. I have instead become more dynamic in what interests me. My kids have allowed me the opportunity to read children's books to them, spend time in playgrounds and explore loads of ideas for art and crafts. More about this will come in my posts about the joys of parenthood.
For tonight, I will stop here. Peace!
