English is easily a very popular language spoken and heard in many countries. It is, for most travellers, a safety net, a language they can resort to when communication becomes tough. In some cases, the widespread usage of English even gives some travellers the confidence to journey into foreign lands where the main languages are something other than English. So what does it take to learn English and be good at it? Find out more on this blog as I will be sharing tips and resources on how to make it your English teaching and learning project. I have been teaching English for 12 years now, first in Zimbabwe, then Mozambique and now in Sweden. I have had students that range from small children to students who were quite old, at varying levels of competence. On this section of the website I will give links to some handy tips and resources for learning English. To be a learner in English can be characterised by so many different variables like level of understanding (how much the student already knows), pace of understanding (how quick a student can grasp and link new information), learning method ( whether a student learns better using images, words, singing or mingling with native speakers). Since it is a huge endeavour to outline an ideal course that anyone can follow chronologically and that suits all the different types of students of english, I will instead provide comments regarding how best the resources can be used and at which levels they might be used.
